Year 12 Nuffield Bursaries

The Nuffield Bursary Scheme for Cambridgshire is coordinated by STEM TEAM Cambridgeshire and offers the opportunity for lower sixth students to take a 4-6 week placement in a local scientific or engineering establishment

The Cavendish Laboratory offers a small number of placements (<=3) and students interested in a physics placement should contact STEM TEAM for an application form. Appropriate forms are then passed on to us for selection.

A subject preference can be indicated on the application form but we cannot guarantee that all physics applications will be offered to us here at the Cavendish. If you have any questions about the scheme please contact STEM TEAM Cambridgeshire as they will be most able to answer any queries.

Please note:

• Application forms are allocated and passed on to us as appropriate by STEM TEAM Cambridgshire and all communication with the students will be through STEM TEAM.
• Students whose forms we receive will be informed of potential dates for a visit where we will informally interview candidates for places - there are usually 2 students applying for each place.
• Places will be allocated at our discretion based on a student's suitability for one of the projects on offer each year.
