Talks

2:30pm - "Tripping the Light Fantastic" Talk by Dave Ansell for all ages
Dave is one of Cambridge's Naked Scientists and author of the kitchen science book"Crisp Packet Fireworks"

3:30pm - The Great Space Elevator - Maximilian Bock
Maximilian is a student researcher at the Cavendish (physics) Laboratory in Cambridge working in nanophotonics. He has co-founded an outreach project to investigate the possibilities of nanotechnology and space elevators.

Planetarium, Hands-on Demonstrations & Make and Do
Throughout the afternoon there will be:
  • Planetarium shows for all ages (book on arrival)
  • High Energy Physics Spark Chamber exhibit
  • Make and do sessions for younger children - join our scientists in making a physics toy to take home.
  • Hands-on experiments run by Cambridge Hands On Science (CHaOS)
  • Demonstrations from the Institute of Physics "Do try this at home"
and much much more.

Parking will be available in and around Claydon High School (Map of location below).
